As we look towards closing out 2024, we love reflecting on our favorite projects throughout the year. The ones we are featuring today are a few that we are particularly proud of because they represent growth. Another thing they all have in common is that they are all microsites. Or, we should say, they started out as microsites, and we are now adding on as their businesses continue to grow.
Microsites have become very popular over the past year, and for good reason.
Very simply – it is a one-page website. There’s no need to overthink this, we promise. The important thing about a well-developed microsite is that it serves the same purpose of a larger site with multiple pages, but it is appropriate for the volume of content needed for a business in its beginning stages. For example, a microsite can still have a navigation bar at the top, and “jump” to the corresponding section when clicked (Our Team, Our Story, What We Do, Who We Serve etc.).
- If you are wondering if a microsite could be the right fit for your business, check out our blog Microsite Design & Strategy – Part 1
- If this is your first time building a website, then Building A Website 101 can be a great resource for you as well.
Now, let’s get into some featured projects.

The Background
While working as a fuel delivery driver in the Tulsa area, Ray Brogan saw an opportunity to serve small and mid size businesses who need fuel delivery without the large volumes of big companies. During an Oklahoma ice storm, his “Hot Shot” emergency fuel delivery took off as he responded to power outages and backup generator needs across the region. Now his business has grown into a family enterprise, incorporating his daughters who assist in managing the day-to-day admin and in making fuel deliveries.
The Strategy
Ray was new to website development and he will be the first to tell you he was nervous about it! When you have never done something like this before, and you are trusting a company that you have found online, working with people you have never met, it can be overwhelming and we get that.
Thankfully, we were able to put Ray’s mind at ease, and we had so much fun working with him and his daughters to tell their story. The strategy was to keep things simple, go in the right order, and move through the process one step at a time.
The Solution
1. Digital Growth Assessment
First things first, we recommended a Digital Growth Assessment to do the research on key search terms for his industry, as well as complete a competitor analysis, and see what the opportunity was to bring in leads through his website. Short story shorter – if you want people to find you on the Google, SEO is usually a good idea.
Although Ray wasn’t sure if he wanted to pursue an SEO campaign just yet, it was important to do this part first so that we could build the site and develop content with a potential SEO strategy in mind.
2. Microsite
We built the microsite, incorporating key SEO terms from our discovery, knowing that the site would serve him well as it was, and that he could easily add on more service pages as needed over time.
3. Professional Photo/Video
Since the majority of his work is remote, we felt that drone photography and videography would be the best way to show what they do and how they do it. Spoiler alert – the photo/video shoot was one of our absolute favorites of all time. The final result was just as we had hoped, and we had a lot of laughs throughout.
4. Care Plan
As most clients do, Ray started out with a Basic Care Plan, so we could manage the hosting, security, and updates as needed. To learn more about Care Plans, you guessed it, there’s a blog just for you.
Why Do I Need A Website Care Plan?
5. SEO Campaign
It didn’t take long before Ray was relieved, business was rolling, and he was ready to start talking about SEO. We were excited to begin his monthly SEO campaign, and are thrilled to say that he has been getting excellent results.
The Outcome
“Being completely out of our element in front of the camera, Symmetric Design put us at ease and made filming comfortable. It was amazing to see our conversations and ideas come to life when our website was launched. The website is user friendly making it easy for my clients to contact us for business. The Symmetric team is always available for questions and feedback. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. Off Road Energy is incredibly grateful for the effort and time they took in taking our small business to the next level!”

Kathy Taylor
Visit Website
The Background
Kathy Taylor is a well-known public figure in our community (Tulsa, OK). She has set the standard for including women in the highest ranks of decision making, serving as Mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma’s Secretary of Commerce, Tourism and Workforce and on corporate boards.
Now in this new chapter of her career, she is focused on her passions that inspire change. From women’s advocacy and entrepreneurship, to travel and cooking, Kathy is a true advocate for authentic connection and community collaboration.
The Strategy
We are so fortunate to have wonderful partners, and one that we love working with time and time again is Resolute PR. They are excellent at what they do and fantastic to work with. The team at Resolute came to us with this project for Kathy, and per usual, were armed with beautiful branding and photography for us to use to create the site.
The strategy was to create a microsite, knowing that it was possible and likely for the site to expand over time.
The Solution
We launched the microsite, and not long after, the request came in to add on a page to house Kathy’s podcast appearances and news articles. We created the Insights page for these items, with the intention that we will be developing a blog page in the future as well. We know there is more in store, and we can’t wait to continue the journey.
The Outcome
“The team at Symmetric seamlessly brought our strategic vision to life! They executed this project in record time with easy collaboration and a clear understanding of the brand and our goals.”

Kaw Power & Safety
The Background
Kaw Power & Safety, a subsidiary of Kaw Nation Industries, is committed to enhancing work and life for tribal communities, government organizations, and businesses across the U.S. through cutting-edge energy, safety, and technology solutions.
There are two things that really stand out to us about this project.
- Repeat Customer – This is the second time this client has come back to us, which we do not take lightly. The most wonderful compliment we can ever receive is when we get the chance to work with a client again, either to expand their current business, or start a second venture. The first project we did was a branding package and microsite for Kaw Nation Industries, and we have included that feature below as well.
- Branding Package & More – We also were given the opportunity to do a brand package, along with website development, content, and professional photography for Kaw Power & Safety. It is so fun for us to be able to contribute creatively to the brand from the very beginning, and support the efforts as it grows over time. It is also so important for new businesses that the logo design, colors, fonts, and overall look and feel are created and approved prior to developing a website, social media presence or any other advertising efforts.
The Strategy
For Kaw Power & Safety, it was very important to include elements that alluded to energy, safety and tech, as those are their primary offerings. We also wanted it to feel cohesive with the Kaw Nation Industries brand, but still have its own unique look and feel and represent its offerings fully.
The Solution
The client chose blue and green to represent energy and nature, and we chose a shield, sun, and power bolt as graphic elements in the logo to represent energy, safety etc. The font is also very modern and clean to represent technology (after all, they do sell robots…how exciting is that!).
We also animated the logo to give it a dynamic edge. Professional photography was very important to show them in action, and we wanted the setting to be mostly outdoors so the natural element was a common thread throughout.
See You In 2025!
And that wraps it up. We are signing off here for 2024, and to all of you who read this, thank you for spending your time with us today!
We are closing out the year with gratitude for all the incredible clients we have had the chance to work with, and excitement for all that is yet to come our way.
As always, if you have any questions, we’re here to help.
